Kentucky American Water Now Accepting Applications for 2026 Firefighting Support Grants

Program has provided nearly $120,000 in grants since 2011

LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- To reaffirm its longstanding support for local fire departments, Kentucky American Water today announced it is accepting applications for its 15th annual Firefighting Support Grant Program.

"Kentucky American Water is proud to support the brave firefighters who work every day to protect our communities," said Rob Burton, president of Kentucky American Water. "Through our Firefighting Support Grant Program, we help provide critical resources and training that enable fire departments to strengthen their capabilities and continue their life-saving work."

Since 2011, Kentucky American Water has awarded $119,500 through its Firefighting Support Grant Program to professional and volunteer fire departments throughout its service area.

Firefighting organizations serving the company's 16-county service area (Bell, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Hickman, Jackson, Jessamine, Nicholas, Owen, Rockcastle, Scott and Woodford counties) are eligible to apply. Program details and applications are available on Kentucky American Water's website at Firefighting Support Grant Program. Applications must be submitted by Oct. 23, 2026.
