About the company

Anglo American PLC is a global mining company focused on the responsible production of copper, premium iron ore and crop nutrients. The Company’s operations include Copper, Premium iron ore, Crop Nutrients, Nickel, Steelmaking Coal, and Manganese. Its iron ore operations provide customers with high grade iron ore products. In South Africa, it has a 69.7% interest in Kumba Iron Ore, while in Brazil it has developed the integrated Minas-Rio operation. Its steelmaking coal assets include the Moranbah North and Grosvenor mines (both 88% ownership), located in Queensland, Australia. The mines are underground longwall operations and produce hard coking coal. In Manganese, it has a 40% interest in the Samancor joint venture. The manganese operations are located in South Africa and Australia, producing ore products for the steel industry. It is developing the Woodsmith project in the northeast of England to access the deposit of polyhalite.
